This "free upgrade" is nothing more than a downgrade in which you are limited to 10 passwords. I DID reply to the email, it was just ignored and this ridiculous reply below posted. Update: the reply below from roboform is a bunch of bunk.

If you sell software to people with the understanding that it is desktop software being purchased for a one time price, I don't see how it is legal or ethical to come back six years later and lock the program and start demanding you pay them the original purchase price every year to keep using it. So apparently now, 6 years later, they have decided the $19.99 is going to be a yearly fee and I suddenly received a message that my desktop versions have expired and I have been locked out, and they want another $19.99 per computer to keep using it another year.

The last time I had to purchase it again in 2011, I paid $39.98 so I could install it on two computers.
Over the years, when I had to replace my computers, it would force me to buy it again because the original installation files wouldn't work. I purchased this program many years ago when it was $19.99, as a one time purchase.

In conclusion: Due to its mobility, high security level and usability, I may say that this is one of the finest password managers on the market.Greedy, money grubbers. Another fine feature is the context menu, which makes it a lot easier to use. RoboForm files can be automatically sent by email as attachments, as the program will automatically detect the local email client. If you request any data after logoff, you will need to re-renter the master password. Pluses: A feature that I personally liked a lot was the thing that you can set the program to log off after a certain period of idle time this is an extra security measure which prevents disclosure of data due to the fact that you forgot to close it. You can set the program to show a toolbar on the bottom side of the browser or you can access it from the Windows tray.
Another data protection feature is the option to create/and restore backups of your files.
I tested the program using Internet Explorer, Opera and Firefox browsers and it worked like a charm. You can use this program with any browser. You can store small protected text in the 'Safenotes' section: this is very helpful when you need to add comments to different passcards. The program stores your form completion data divided into three sections: the 'Logins' section stores your user names and passwords, the 'Identities' section will store personal data such as name, phone numbers, business information, banking information, addresses, etc. You have the option of creating strong passwords using the password generator, in case you feel uninspired. All data is stored in secure 'passcards' protected by encrypted passwords (encryption algorithms: DES, 2DES, AES, Blowfish, RC6).
